This week I want to spend some time on Hope. I sense everywhere I turn hopelessness that wants to invade everyone.

We lose hope and feel overwhelmed when we take our eyes off of Jesus and put it onto our circumstances or problems.  It is a sure way to feel the joy being sucked out of you. I know, it happens to me also. However, I ask God to help me and then I choose to focus on God and His nature. I have to purposefully take my thoughts captive and choose to think differently. Grahame Cooke says, “If you don’t like the way you think, have another thought”. Nobody says you have to keep the thought you have. That is why we are able to change our mind about things. Because this is based on God’s word and is true, I then focus on who God is and His unchangeable nature.  I meditate on that by rehearsing the truth of His Word over and over until I believe it.

If we truly believe who He says He is, it will change your whole life.  Let’s look at His nature. He is good, kind, patient merciful, gracious, loving, for us not against us, to name a few.

This brings me into peace again and I can feel the joy return. I then place all of my anxiety or concerns unto Jesus in prayer and begin to think and quote scripture that backs this up.

I leave you with this thought… If you are right with God, totally 100% right with God, how does that make you feel? It makes me feel at peace. When I experience peace, my joy returns and I feel strong. I want to encourage you today. If you have given your life to Jesus you are 100% right with God, it is called righteousness, and you get it because of what Jesus did for you when He died in your place on the cross so that you could be made right with God. It is not anything you need to do to earn or try to deserve it. It is a gift from God to you through His precious Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

All you need to do is to choose to believe this truth today and say, “Thank You, Jesus”. May God’s hope and peace fill your heart and mind in Jesus today.
